Types of Garage Door Repairs
Garage door cables
Regarding garage door cables, they are of two strands of steel connected to the door and are responsible for raising and lowering the door. These cables are usually made of galvanized steel and come with a flexible coating that helps keep them from fraying or breaking.
Unfortunately, due to regular wear and tear, the cables can start to fray or become worn down over time. If this happens, the garage door will not be able to move, and we will replace the cables.
Garage door drums
Door drums provide the necessary support and stability to ensure your garage door operates safely and smoothly. Common signs that your garage door drums need repair include the following:
- Uneven or off-balance garage door
- Unstable or jerky movements when opening and closing
- Rattling or squeaking noises when opening and closing
- Unusual vibrations when the door is in use
- Door failing to open or close properly
Garage door rollers
The system can become unreliable and unsafe when the garage door rollers start to break down. If left unchecked, the damage could worsen and become even more challenging to fix. The process will be relatively straightforward if the rollers have worn down due to normal wear and tear. However, if the roller is cracked, bent, or otherwise damaged, it will be necessary to order a replacement roller.
Garage door springs
Garage door springs provide the necessary tension and support to the door and its components. If these springs fail, the door may become unbalanced and unable to operate correctly. A broken spring can make it difficult to open and close the door, put unnecessary strain on the opener, and even cause the door to become completely stuck. Our professional technician has the experience and tools to inspect the springs, identify any issues, and safely make the necessary repairs or replacements.
Garage door hinge
If the hinges become worn out, the tips of the hinge may become rounded, or the pin may come out of the barrel. If the hinges have come loose, check to see if any mounting screws are loosely fitted. If so, tighten the screws back into place.
Once the garage door hinges are repaired and secure, checking the entire door for other potential problems is a good idea. We ensure the tracks are correctly aligned, the door is lubricated, and all the nuts and bolts are tightly in place.
